Nutrition Counselling for Pets

Helping you choose the right foods to meet your pet’s nutritional needs.

Choosing the right foods for your pet can positively impact their health. With the market being saturated with foods that promise the best for your pet, it can be difficult to discern which ones are right for them. During your pet's nutrition counselling appointment, we provide recommendations on their diet based on an assessment of their overall health.

How does nutrition affect my pet's health?

Feeding your pet foods tailored to their needs can improve their quality of life and increase their life expectancy. Each pet's dietary needs are unique to their genetics, metrics, lifestyle, and overall health. For example, pets with health conditions like obesity benefit from diets calibrated based on a lower caloric intake. Pets with food allergies can have diets tailored to eliminate potential irritants. Puppies are at a different stage of life than adult dogs, so their daily diet should reflect that. Which diet is right for my pet?

Before determining which diet is the right fit for your pet, we'll do an assessment. Our assessment helps inform the recommendations we'll make. In addition to choosing the right foods, we'll also determine the correct portion and frequency your pet should be fed. Some pets may need more or less food based on the stage of life they are in. For your convenience, our clinic offers a wide range of high-quality, veterinary-exclusive diets with good nutritional value. Formulas available are based on your pet's different life stages:

  • Growth formulas for puppies and kittens
  • Adult formulas for cats and dogs over 1 year of age
  • Senior formulas for older pets.

Are there diets specific to my pet's health condition?

We also offer diets designed specifically to aid in the management and treatment of certain diseases and conditions. We have diets to help with diabetes, obesity, urinary issues, allergies, sensitive stomachs, and more. We also offer premium quality treats for your pet. Whether your pet needs treats to aid in dental care, allergies, or weight management, we offer treats made to the same high standard as our veterinary-exclusive diets.
